David Robinson - 2019 Seventh Grade Honor Band Clinician
David Robinson was the Instrumental Music Director for grades 6-12 and high school boys Head Tennis Coach for the Knob Noster Public Schools in Knob Noster, Missouri for 30 years. He retired from public school teaching in the Spring of 2013 with a total of thirty-one years band directing, and fourteen years coaching tennis. David is the current President of the Warrensburg Community Band, the Executive Secretary of the University of Missouri Alumni Band, a Past President of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia (UCM Chapter), and the West Central Missouri Music Educators Association. He also served as the Band Vice President for WCMMEA.
David graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor of Music Education, with emphasis in both instrumental and vocal in 1982, and completed his Masters in Music Education from UCM in 1992. Under “Mr. Rob’s” leadership, Knob Noster Marching, Concert, and Jazz Bands earned consistent “1” Ratings and “1st Place” distinctions as well as performed for many area, and regional events.
David’s repurposed retirement life includes a position as the Worship Pastor at Grover Park Baptist Church in Warrensburg, MO. He also maintains and manages a real estate rental portfolio, private instrumental, tennis, and golf lesson studio, guest conducts/clinics, judges contests, substitute teaches for music, drives school bus trips, golfs, plays tennis, and enjoys frequent “life’s too short getaways” with his wife of 35 years, Denise, and extended family.

Michael Oglesby - 2019 Eighth Grade Honor Band Clinician
Michael Oglesby is currently in his twentieth year of teaching and his sixth year as an adjunct faculty member at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri where he works with the Lion Pride Marching Band and Concert Band. He has also served as the MSSU Department of Music Representative in the Supervising of Student Teachers. His current duties entail a team teaching approach withe the Director of Bands, Dr. Rick Espinosa, to the Lion Pride Marching Band, as he helps run music and marching rehearsals during the fall semester. During the spring semester he works with student conductors during concert band where he helps advise music majors on rehearsal strategies, techniques, preparation, and general conducting as a supplement to Dr. Espinosa's conduction class. He is an active adjudicator and clinician in both marching band and concert band throughout Missouri and Kansas. He is also a member of the Four State Symphonic Winds that has recently been selected to perform at this year's 2019 MMEA Workshop and Clinic, under the direction of Dr. Craig Fuchs.
Prior to his time at MSSU, Michael taught for thirteen years in public education, eleven of which were at Webb City R-7 Schools. Michael directed the 8th grade Wind Ensemble and Concert Bands, 7th grade Brass and Woodwind classes, to Jazz Bands at the Jr. High level, assisted with the High School band and marching band, and coordinated the beginning brass studies at the Middle School. During the Marching season, Mr. Oglesby ran the High School Brass line and was a field tech during marching rehearsals. He also directed brass choirs at both the high school and junior high school. Mr. Oglesby taught two years in the Aurora School District prior to Webb City. The 8th Grade Webb City Junior High Wind Ensemble was selected to play at the MMEA (Missouri Music Educators Association) Educators Workshop and Clinic in 2010. The band was unable to perform to to weather complications. The 8th Grade Wind Ensemble most recently performed at MMEA in 2011. He was Assistant Director in 2005 when the WCJH Wind Ensemble first performed at MMEA, under the direction of mentor and friend, Diana Williams. The Webb City High School Cardinal Pride Marching Band was also selected twice to participate in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California during Michaels' tenure at Webb City. In 2012, Michael was selected as Cardinal Teacher of the Year at Webb City Junior High. Webb City High School Brass choirs received numerous "I" ratings while under Mr. Oglesby's direction at State Large Ensemble.
Michael received his Bachelor of Music Education (1999) and his Master of Music Degree (2004) with an emphasis in Wind Conducting from Pittsburg State University. Professional memberships include: Pi Kappa Lambda, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Pi Beta Mu, and various other State organizations. Michael was the Jr. High Vice President for the Southwest Missouri District for six years, and was the SWMMEA President Elect.
Michael has studied trumpet with Dr. Todd Hastings, Scott Harris, and Dr. James Tapia. His conducting instructor was Dr. Craig Fuchs of Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kansas.
Michael resides with his beautiful wife Barbara, his two sons, Matthew (age 17), Ethan (age 15), and two dogs (Spicy and Snookie) in Galena, Kansas.
